North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (NYSCP) would love to know about individuals or organisations who have stood out, gone beyond expectations, or worked creatively and innovatively to improve the lives of children and young people in North Yorkshire.

Thanks to those of you who have signed up for our volunteer management training sessions. Our first round of training sessions are now fully booked, but bookings are open for the next round of volunteer management training sessions, taking place in 2023.

Thanks to a grant from the Centre for Ageing Better, NCVO are working on age friendly inclusive volunteering and have offered up to ten organisations a place to join an action learning set. They’ll meet once a month over a six-month period, from July 2022 to January 2023. While the closing date for applications was 22 June we are sure there will be lots of learning to share.

As the cost of living crisis continues to bite, inflation is expected to reach 10% by the end of 2022. It is now more important than ever to pay volunteer expenses.  

The Civil Society Group have just conducted a short survey to better understand concerns and how organisations are mitigating them. Charity Digital have published a guide to volunteer management systems. It looks at some of the best systems currently on the market and explores how to use them efficiently and effectively for service delivery, fundraising and more.

NCVO are now preparing the fourth and final Time Well Spent report. This report examines the impact of the pandemic on the volunteering experience, exploring broader changes in volunteer operation, recruitment, and motivation while closely looking at the emotional impact of volunteering during the pandemic. The report findings will be released on 22 July on their website.
