Looking for Trustees outside North Yorkshire?

While our Volunteering in North Yorkshire (VINY) directory is funded to support volunteer recruitment in the county, we can signpost you to other sources of information if you're looking to recruit volunteers outside North Yorkshire.

There are some great tips and advice in the Practical Guide - How to Recruit Trustees for your Charity - developed by Stepping on Board and Reach Volunteering.

Advertising your trustee roles

You can let people know you are looking for trustees through adverts on your website, social media accounts, newsletters, local newspapers, newsletters, e-magazines, neighbourhood magazines and via posters in libraries, supermarkets and community buildings. You may like to contact local businesses and networks and send information out via employer networks.

There are also a number of great trustee-listing websites that can provide a platform to advertise your trustee vacancies. Some are paid-for but many enable charities to post their voluntary roles for free if you become a member:

CharityJob (free for voluntary roles)

The Big Give (free)

Women on Boards (free)

The Guardian Jobs (charge)

Third Sector (charge)
