Shopping Angels

with Hambleton Community Action

Hambleton Community Action would love to hear from you if you could support people from Northallerton, Bedale and surrounding villages to get out of their homes and do their own shopping at supermarkets and/or local shops.

As a Shopping Angel volunteer, you would provide transport to and from the shops, help read labels, reach for items and help pack / unpack bags etc. The service enables people to remain more independent whilst providing them with support and company.

We are also looking for 'Shop and Drop' volunteers to help people who struggle to get to the shops due to their mobility or ill health. They send Hambleton Community Action their shopping list and we arrange a volunteer to do the shopping and deliver to their door.

Skills or experience required?:

Amiable, good listener, enjoys talking to people and generally being helpful.

You will require?: Criminal Record Check (DBS), Drivers licence, A car
