Secretary and Committee members

FLAG - Filey Library Action Group recruits volunteers to work with full-time NYCC staff at Filey Library. There are approximately 30 volunteers who help in the library during opening hours. The FLAG committee is a small and dedicated group who recruit new volunteers, administer rotas, help organise events and many other things. We would very much like to strengthen the committee with additional members. Specifically we are looking for:

1. Secretary - the main roles are organising regular committee meetings and taking minutes, administering volunteer records, liaising with NYCC staff in areas of mutual interest and keeping the committee and volunteers abreast of information as it becomes available. It is an administrative role which requires someone who is organised and other than meetings does not always require attendance at the library. It would be ideal for someone who is happy working on their computer at home although attendance at the library would be needed from time to time. As a a guide we would anticipate the commitment needing about two hours per week.

2. Committee member - no particular role is envisaged initially but would suit someone who likes to get involved with a variety of things. This could include organising a raffle, representing FLAG at an NYCC meeting, maybe raising funds etc.

Nether of these opportunities require you to actually work as a volunteer on the 'shop' floor but naturally that is not ruled out!
