Carers' Resource Community Ambassador

Location: At your own community group, school, church, community centre.

Purpose of Role: To be aware of unpaid carers, sign post people in your local group to Carers’ Resource and share information on events/ activities for carers with your local community group.

Qualities required:
o Be a good communicator
o Be friendly and empathetic

Support provided:
o Supported and supervised by a named Carers’ Resource staff member
o Official Induction to Carers’ Resource
o Carers’ Resource leaflets and referral forms.

Time Commitment: As much or as little as you are able to give.

Tasks you may support with:
o Raise the profile of Carers’ Resource when you attend your community group.
o Speak to community group members and try and sign post unpaid carers looking after their loved ones and family. Encourage them to contact Carer’s Resource for support.
o Act as an ambassadors, spreading the word about the work of Carers’ Resource.
o Share information on new groups, activities, breaks and grants with your community group.

Expenses: Agreed expenses will be reimbursed
