Purpose of Role: The Carers’ Resource delivers a wide range of groups across Craven and Harrogate to encourage carers to have time with other carers; in turn giving them time for themselves.
Volunteer group hosts are relied upon to ensure the smooth delivery of these groups. Groups could be anything from arts and crafts to simply having a coffee, cake and a chat

Qualities required:
o Be well organised/good administrator
o Be able to be a point of reference at the event
o Be a good communicator
o Be a good listener
o Be empathetic
o Be non-judgemental
o Be reliable
o Be committed to the role
o Be able to work as part of a team

Support provided:
o Supported and supervised by a named Carers’ Resource staff member
o Induction to Carers’ Resource
o Guidance and ongoing support

Time Commitment: minimum of 2 hour regular slots TBC

Tasks you may be responsible for:
o Preparing for the group meetings – arriving early and setting up the room
o Welcoming group members
o Supporting the carers to take part in the session
o Completing paperwork – who has attended
o Collecting monies
o Communicating with group members on a regular basis
o referring specific carer queries to appropriate locality worker

Expenses: Agreed expenses will be reimbursed
