SELFA is a charity working with vulnerable children and young people in Skipton and Craven. We have a vacancy on our Board of Trustees for a Treasurer.
Day to day financial administration is carried out by the Office Manager/Chief Officer, but the Treasurer has an important role in monitoring the financial standing of the charity. They oversee the Charity’s financial risk-management process and report financial health to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals. The Treasurer may also be asked to act as a counter signatory on applications to funders. We ask that Trustees attend a minimum of 4 Board meetings per year and the Treasurer should also be available for 4 quarterly meeting of the Finance Sub-Committee.
Experience/knowledge of finances.
Proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders.
Competent use of IT skills.
Analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgement.
Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship (Training can be provided)
Good communication and leadership skills
