Each Scout Group is a charity in its own right and as such must manage its finances according to proper procedures. An experienced treasurer is required to manage the day to day finances of the Scout Group, income <£25k per annum.
The treasurer will be part a key postholder on the Group executive committee and as such automatically becomes a charity trustee. Therefore, you must be eligible to be a trustee. Experience of book-keeping, insurance, utilities, forecasting expenditure, financial management and seeing the bigger picture are all desirable for this role. training is available.
