Digital Content Volunteer

Are you social media savvy? Would you like to play your part in developing an exciting future for a remarkable museum?

Built in the late 17th century, the Folly was once the home of a wealthy lawyer. Throughout its life the Folly has been a family home, farmhouse, bakery, warehouse, furniture shop, refreshment rooms, fish & chip shop, bank and a salvage business. It has so many stories to tell and is now home to the Museum of North Craven Life, which holds a diverse collection of objects and an archive rich with the history of the North Craven area, its social, industrial and cultural development.

We want to share these stories and collections by developing new and exciting content for our social media and website. We currently have 1,600 followers across our social media channels and we would love to see this grow.

What you will do:
You will produce content for The Folly’s social media and website, sharing interesting stories about The Folly and its collections to improve online engagement. This may include short blogs, social media posts, and videos. You will be supported by the Heritage Development Officer.

We would like you to have:
Experience of using Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
Have access to a device with social media on it (phone, laptop etc.)
Willingness to learn new skills
Enthusiasm to keep learning about the museum and collections

We will provide:
Induction and full training
A Volunteer Mentor to help you settle in
Ongoing support and training

You will get:
To be part of a group making a great contribution to The Folly
A chance to meet new people and learn new skills
Free entry to local attractions with the Northern Museums Volunteer Pass
