Digital Champion - Volunteer

We currently have volunteer opportunities for in-person Digital Champions to support our projects in North Yorkshire. We’re also looking for remote digital champions to support people in North Yorkshire over the phone as well as face to face.

We provide initial training and ongoing support for our volunteer Digital Champions. Please include North Yorkshire and the District which you live in in your application.

What is a Digital Champion? Not necessarily a technical whizz. A staff member, volunteer or client. Someone willing to share knowledge/skills. Someone who understands the benefits of digital. Someone with ideas.
Digital Champions volunteer their time to help others to improve their digital skills and benefit from using the internet safely. Every learner is different, but common tasks you’d be helping people with include:

Finding their way around a device
Setting up an email account
Searching for information on the internet
Using communication tools like Zoom and Facetime
Signposting to hobbies

What does it take to be Digital Champion?
You don’t have to be a technical whizz. You do need to be patient, understanding and a great communicator.
