IDAS Emotional Support Volunteer- Northallerton area
Volunteers are instrumental in supporting our client's when they are moving from crisis to managing their lives beyond abuse. Volunteers can help those starting to move away from service, develop resilience and coping strategies. Volunteers enable them to do this with emotional support calls and check ins. Volunteers can also help with creating and facilitating moving on groups and additional activities.
A high standard of communication skills, compassion, respect, understanding or a willingness to learn that domestic abuse is complex. For selected candidates we offer thorough training. Survivor experience is not essential but is also welcomed.
Potential volunteers should know that we carry out extensive checks.
