Volunteer Minibus Driver

with Dial A Ride (Scarborough & District)

Scarborough Dial A Ride is a local, independent community transport charity and we have been providing safe, accessible and affordable transport for older people and those with a disability since 1983. To help keep up with demand, we are looking for people who can give a day a week to drive our fully accessible minibuses and work as a team with our volunteer passenger assistants. We operate in and around the Scarborough and Filey areas taking people shopping, to day care, to health appointments, hairdressers, to visit friends or for any reason they need transport. If you like driving and meeting people, we would love to hear from you. We provide full training and support and you will be part of a friendly and welcoming team and know that you have made a positive difference to people's lives and to your local community.

Skills or experience required?:

Aged over 21 with a category D1 OR have held your licence for over 2 years. You must like meeting people, have a patient and caring outlook. Local area knowledge is an advantage but not essential. You need to be reasonably physically fit although no lifting or manual handling is undertaken. Able to give a day a week.

You will require?: Criminal Record Check (DBS), Drivers licence
