Checkpoint volunteer: Yorkshire Three Peaks Saturday 23 July 2022

You will be helping BHF to deliver one of its premier events of the year! We have five checkpoints at the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, two of which are used as participant supports centres. At these two locations, the BHF provides water, refreshments, toilets and medical assistance to all of our hikers.
Our Checkpoint assistants will be required to be at these sites to hand out refreshments and replenish stocks. They will also be required to brand the area and answer any questions that the participants have as they come through.
These volunteers will work with the Checkpoint Manager to ensure participants are flowing through the sites in a socially distanced manner and adhering to our Covid-19 mitigations, as well as maintaining cleanliness of the sites.
With the Checkpoint Manager, they will also set-up and de-rig the site at the start and end of the event.
No particular skills required, just a bit of empathy for the walkers who will have come long way by the time they get to your checkpoint, they will need a bit of a cheer and support in the form of kind words of encouragement and perhaps a bottle of water! You don't need any particular skills apart from a commitment to attend and carry out your shift with a smile and a few words of friendly encouragement for the participants! We are looking for up to 18 volunteers to help us at the event. Event Volunteers have a choice of shifts and opportunities. For example, the Start/Finish Assistants will help with site install and branding, offer general support to Start/Finish Managers, give information to participants as required and help to hand out medals and water. Checkpoint Assistants
will be transported to one of two checkpoints, help to set up or de-rig depending on shift and give support with crowd flow.
