As a well established mental health charity, Mind in Hambleton and Richmondshire (Darlington Mind) exists to support vulnerable adults and children to achieve and maintain good mental health and to develop emotional resilience.

We are passionate about mental health and are looking for new Trustees who can add skills to our existing board members who have a wide range of skills and experience in governing charitable organisations and businesses.

If you are seeking to develop your experience and skills and give something back we would love to hear from you.

Your time commitment would be an average of about 5 hours a month

Applying for the Trustee role:

We have a standard application and recruitment process for prospective Trustees which will apply to all individuals interested in applying.

We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health, people with disabilities and people from BAME communities.

A satisfactory, enhanced DBS check is required for all Trustees, staff and volunteers joining the Charity along-with two satisfactory references.

Skills or experience required?:

We are seeking people who have an interest in supporting people experiencing mental health and emotional problems to live their best life. People with lived experience of mental ill health are very much welcome to apply as your experience and views will help the charity ensure its services are focussed in the right way to make a difference to the quality of people's lives.

As part of this recruitment we are also looking for new Trustees who can provide strategic input into:
1) the marketing and promotion of the charity
2) the Charity’s Human Resource Management
3) the Financial Management of the Charity
4) fundraising
