Childcare Support

We are looking for a positive, outgoing and empathetic person to join our volunteer team.

The role involves supporting peer support sessions by caring for client’s pre-school children (older children may also attend during school holidays).

This includes helping designing play sessions in line with age range and child capability, supporting organisations projects that are specifically aiming at improving the emotional intelligence/resilience of the child through creative play and mindfulness to reduce the effects of trauma.

This requires an open and non judgemental approach with a positive outlook, to build trust and ensure the provision of a safe and supportive environment.

As such we are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, a forward thinker with similar experience of either attending, running or supporting a group setting as well as a willingness to join in with clients discussions in the group if no children attend.

While monthly volunteer supervision will be provided by a trauma-informed coach we encourage those applying to have a strong awareness of their boundaries in order to protect their own mental health.

The service is a women-led peer service and is therefore restricted to women/non-binary (female at birth) applicants under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 & Section 7(2)e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
