Handyperson Role

We are looking for a positive, outgoing and empathetic person to join our volunteer team.

The role involves supporting clients in DIY tasks such as the building of furniture and putting up curtains/blinds.

This role includes collecting and delivering large items such as sofas, beds (access to vehicle required)- roles can be combined or separate.

This requires an open and non judgemental approach with a positive outlook, to build trust and ensure the provision of a safe and supportive environment.

As such we are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, a forward thinker with similar experience of the above mentioned skills.

The service is a women-led peer service and is therefore restricted to women/non-binary (female at birth) applicants under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 & Section 7(2)e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.

Skills or experience required?:

Owns own tools - to be covered by own public liability insurance (essential).

Has access to vehicle to attend jobs.

Awareness of domestic abuse (training will be provided).

High level of engagement skills and communication skills.

Awareness of safeguarding processes and/or willingness to attend online training.

Trustworthy and reliable.
