Skills or experience required?:

We are looking for positive, outgoing and empathetic people to join our volunteer team. The role involves supporting and advocating for clients both in person and virtually. This includes enabling access to various support groups, meeting clients for a coffee over Zoom, or for a walk and texting or calling to check in on their mental and emotional health.

The role will also involve supporting clients in their home with light cleaning or sourcing furniture/ furnishings and may include attending court in a supporting capacity only. This requires an open and non judgemental approach with a positive outlook, to build trust and ensure the provision of a safe and supportive environment. As such we are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, a forward thinker with similar life experiences.

While monthly volunteer supervision will be provided, we encourage those applying to have a strong awareness of their boundaries in order to protect their own mental health.

Availability required:
Weekly during daytime hours to suit you.
Please note our group sessions are held on:
Wednesdays 12:30pm-2:30pm (Harrogate)
Fridays 10am-12pm (Ripon)
Which you may or may not be required to attend.

The service is a women-led peer service and is therefore restricted to women/non-binary (assigned female at birth) applicants under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 & Section 7(2)e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975
