Selby Walking Group Volunteer

Our new Selby Walking Group enables adults with disabilities to enjoy countryside walks of up to 6 miles.

The role of the volunteer is to support the disabled members of the group. This may involve guiding someone with a visual impairment or just providing general support, assistance and company.

The group meets in Selby on one weekend day a month at the leisure centre car park at 10.15am, returning about 4pm.

Skills or experience required?:

Good communication skills, patience and a sense of humour are useful, as well as a love of the outdoors (and being outside in all weathers!).

A basic level of fitness is required as the group walks up to 6 miles.

Some 'on-site' training will be provided and volunteers will need to complete some health & safety and safeguarding paperwork prior to joining us.
