Volunteer Drivers - Car Scheme

We are looking for kind hearted individuals to join our Car Scheme as a Volunteer Driver to help people in their local community requiring transport to medical and other health related appointments as well as social engagements. The role involves taking people to wherever they need to attend and may require some waiting for the clients whilst they attend appointments. Driver Expenses for petrol are paid and are based on the entire mileage from the Volunteer Driver's home to the destination and back again for each journey by the Volunteer Driver at a rate currently of 50p per mile. We cover local journeys within a 20 mile radius however longer journeys are required including on occasion to Newcastle, Leeds, York subject to the agreement of the Volunteer Driver.

Skills or experience required?:

We would like people who have good interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, enjoy meeting new people, good communication skills, listening skills, able to follow instructions, time management skills, a patient and caring attitude and IT skills in terms of using emails. We require basic admin skills such as completing weekly Driver Expense sheets as well as a sense of humour and a happy disposition are always welcomed.
