Speech Support Worker

Our Speech Support Workers work one-to-one with our clients on a weekly basis, often in their homes. Supported by our Speech and Language Therapy team, the volunteer supports our clients in improving their speech and communication abilities using speech therapy apps, and supported conversation techniques. This role is more hands on than our Aphasia Café volunteer role, and will see you undertaking the following:
- Working one-to-one
- Developing a good understanding of the speech therapy apps used
- Using the bespoke care plan devised for our clients by our Speech Therapy team
- Submitting weekly visit reports detailing the actions undertaken in each session
- Attending regular training to keep you updated with best practice
