Customer Service & Admin Volunteer - Scarborough
Customer service volunteers help support our day-to-day customer interactions in our stores, including customers purchasing products in store and over the phone, organising both collections and deliveries to customers.
Responsibilities of the role:
• Greeting customers in a friendly, helpful manner
• Offering support and assistance to customers in store, including providing information about our services and answering questions to the best of your ability
• Operating the till when customers purchase items. Including: creating customer accounts. Putting through card and cash transactions, issuing the correct change and counting sales
• Arranging delivery of products & collection of donations with customers, involving creating a job sheet using the computer & logging these in the diary, communicating with the van and warehouse teams about how to best support their deliveries and using the phone to arrange collections, asking the correct questions to make sure we are being donated good quality items
• Administrative support, including: assisting with printing, filing & organising where needed. Uploading and organising time sheets, and keeping back offices tidy and well stocked

Skills Required:
• You will need to be comfortable and prepared to interact with a wide range of customers, including over the phone
• Being a positive, helpful, and polite representative of the store to customers
• You do not need any specific skills, all training including use of the till and cash-handling will be provided
What we expect from you:
• A minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week
• Ideally, a set volunteering pattern adjusted to your needs, abilities, and wider commitments
• Being punctual, reliable, and ready to help
