Store Merchandising Volunteer - Scarborough

Our stores all have large amounts of good quality, donated furniture which need to be displayed and merchandised in order for customers to get a positive experience when visiting the store, and for furniture to be sold effectively. Volunteers with a background in retail merchandising, or a creative background, can support the merchandising of our stock, and the presentation of our store.

Responsibilities:
• Merchandising and presenting the furniture in our store, including creating special displays and maintaining general appearance of store
• Communicating with warehouse store volunteers about which furniture should be moved and set up where, to create eye-catching and attractive displays
• Polite, friendly and helpful customer support and service when on the shop floor

Skills or experience required?:

Skills Required:
• Creativity and a flair for presentation
• You will need to communicate well with the rest of the store team
• You will need to be a positive, helpful, and friendly representative of Community Stores as you interact with customers
• Experience in retail merchandising or other creative fields would be a bonus

What we expect from you:
• A minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week
• Ideally, a set volunteering pattern adjusted to your needs, abilities, and other commitments
• Being punctual, reliable, and ready to help
